54. Why/When does a person speak in tongues?
This is for a sign, basically to the unbeliever (1 Corinthians 14:2). The various situations in which a person speaks in tongues are:
i. upon receiving the baptism of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:4).
ii. when speaking to God in worship or prayer (1 Corinthians 14:2, 14, 15).
iii. to edify the Church with a specially sent message from the Holy Ghost, and should be coupled with the interpretation (1 Corinthians 12).
