Who was Jesus when he was praying in the Garden of Gethsemane?

A. He was then and always will be God. Fully God and fully Man. No one else can be that or perform the miracles Jesus did (and is still doing) because he is God manifest in the flesh.(Luke 22:39-44, 1 Timothy 3:16) He was however praying in his human consciousness to His own self (the Spirit of God inside him, that was still controlling the universe and time) on behalf of the people of the world past, present, and future. His human flesh was still under subjection to the law (Galatians 4:4), even though he was the Lamb of God. (Revelation 13:8, 1 Peter 1:20) There came that point when he knew it was time to lay down his own life (Matthew 26:38), even though He could raise it up ( Matthew 26:61, Mark 14:58, John 2:19) and in fact did so, the flesh was not ready to be separated from the Spirit. However, he came so that we may live ( John 10:10, 2 Corinthians 5:15) and gave into the will of God. (Matthew 26:39)
