88. Why is Jesus referred to as the ‘only begotten Son?’
The ‘ begotten Son’ refers to the beginning of the humanity of Jesus as the child born of Mary through the begetter, the Spirit of God.
John 3:16
16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
